Fall TV Shows to Tune Into

Fall is the best time for TV, but with so many new and old shows filling competing time slots, many of us will have to make that very difficult choice—what to watch tonight. With four networks that all have great shows, I will let you know what shows to watch for so that you can get a break from the typical singing and talent related reality shows.

ABC has always been fairly good at making comedies that are actually, well, comical. This fall should be no different, with the return of Modern Family premiering on Wednesday, September 26 at 9 p.m. This season, we will learn if Cam and Mitch ever get their second child, and will get to follow Gloria’s pregnancy. Another great show returning to ABC on Tuesday, October 23 at 9:30 p.m. is “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23.” This is a show that will have you laughing out loud as you watch Chloe get her naïve roommate June into countless shenanigans.

If you’re looking to keep the comedy going, CBS has a great comedy lineup this season as well, with the return of How I Met Your Mother on Mondays at 8 p.m., premiering on September 24. All of your burning questions will be answered this season, will Barney and Robin really get married? Is Ted really going to end up with Victoria? And how are Marshall and Lily fairing with little Marvin Wait-For-It Eriksen?

All of you “Gleeks” out there rejoice! The new season started on September 13, on anew night, Thursdays at 9 p.m. on FOX. Although we are missing a few characters from last year like Finn and Mercedes (among others), the show is still following Rachel’s life in New York along with Kurt. We were also introduced to some new characters, one of whom might be “the new Rachel.” FOX has also always had popular dramas, and this season should be no different. The series premier of “The Mob Doctor” is Monday, September 17, at 9 p.m. This show is about a surgeon who owes the Mob, and has to make a choice between her career, and her debt.

Last but not least is NBC. They have a fantastic mix of comedy and drama this season; one show in particular had a little bit of both. Go On, starring Matthew Perry, is a new comedy that premiered on August 8, and airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. Having watched the Pilot and the second episode, I can tell you that this is a great show to watch. Perry’s character, Ryan King, a sports radio personality, has recently lost his wife, and has to join a support group in order to return to work. The show is very funny, but it will leave you teary eyed at the same time.

So there you have it, the best of the old and the new for the fall TV lineup. Now go out there and set your DVRs or set yourself on the couch and start watching!
