Jackson Square: the place to visit

Looking for an unforgettable trip? New Orleans, Louisiana is the place to go where the roads are filled with life and culture throughout the city. You will be amazed with all the sightseeing. From the beautiful St. Louis Cathedral, which is the oldest cathedral in consistent use in the United States, to the energetic bands in the street, to the food and back, what was once known as the “Place d’Armes” in the 18th century is now known as Jackson Square.
Jackson Square is a sight to see. One of the unforgettable attractions is the St. Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square. Inside of the church the feeling of peace radiates over one’s body. Guests are welcomed by the sounds of holy men singing the tones of faith as they enter the church. People inside of the church show their courtesy of silence and respectfulness towards people praying inside.
On the main stage of the church guests can admire sculptures of religious figures surrounding the podium. The sculptures are very well detailed. So detailed, that the realism in their facial expressions is mind blowing. On the roof of the church is a beautiful painting that adds to the atmosphere of the cathedral. Surrounding the walls of the church is stainless glass with pictures of religious figures. This is truly a historic site that no one can miss.
Right outside of the church, guests visiting Jackson Square will be attracted to the sound of jazz music. The local community come together and stage live street performances. The people that are performing come in all ages from toddler to elder. The younger crowds that performs in Jackson Square are of a urban flair. The jazz band plays great music by mixing different genres of music all together, making the sounds of music have that modern feel to it.
Everyone in the band was filled with energy, and listening to them is a great treat because everyone is just there to have a good time. The performers are very polite and happy to be there. About 20 feet away is another band of older age men that maintain the classical rhythm when it comes to jazz music. Their down tempo makes any person feel right at home. Their music has a slow vibe to it that could just calm a person down.
It was a real joy listening to them play in Jackson Square. Musicians are one of the keys elements of New Orleans for making it have such a great value in culture and making the trip all that much special.
On a trip to New Orleans, you should visit the timeless attraction where aside from jazz, the air is filled with the smell of beignets, coffee and hot chocolate. Just across the road is the original French market coffee stand known as Café Du Monde. This irreplaceable attraction is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and has been serving Beignets and coffee since 1862. According to reports, this is the world’s most famous coffee shop.
If you’re looking for a good meal and a meal that is at a good price, Jackson Square is the right place to be. On a recent visit, an order of two beignets (3 on each order), one hot chocolate and one “cafe Au Lait” cost only $13.00.
Café Du Monde is definitely the place to be on a visit to New Orleans. The spectacular view over the horizon of the Mississippi river is irreplaceable. One thing for sure is when visiting; arrive with an empty stomach and a lot of time to spare. An employee from Café Du Monde estimates that this local attraction brings in over 1,000 vistors each day.
Friendly staff make the long wait bearable and worthwhile. Talented musicians stand outside of the coffee shop providing live entertainment and making the experience even more delightful. Near the facility are multiple stores that open at 8 a.m. including the Café Du Monde gift shop where they sell coffee mugs, Café Du Monde aprons and the signature beignet mix.
Needless to say, a visit to New Orleans will be extremely enjoyable to people that have a taste for music, food and art. New Orleans, Louisiana is one of a kind. Likewise, from the jazz music to the street performers, the food and historical landmarks, Jackson Square is a must visit in New Orleans.
