On April 11, Hillsborough Community College held the 50th Annual Student Juried ArtExhibition, showcasing the extraordinary talents of its budding artists.
The event is a testament to the art departments commitment to nurturing artistic expression and has drawn admiration from participants and visitors alike. This is a milestone exhibition, as it celebrates 50 years of students’ hard work, dedication, and most importantly, their artistry.
The event was held at the Ybor campus in Gallery114, which serves as a platform for students to display their diverse range of artistic prowess. From paintings to sculptures, photographs to digital art, the pieces on display captivate viewers with their innovation and emotional depth.
Each artwork tells a unique story, reflecting the individual perspectives and experiences of each creator. The vibrancy of colors, intricate details, and the thought-provoking themes demonstrate the exceptional skill and dedication of HCC’s student artists.
Among the highlights of the exhibition are the awards presented to each outstanding artists, recognizing their exceptional contributions to the world of art. These accolades not only honor the recipients but also inspire others to pursue their artistic aspirations with passion and determination.
One such standout piece is “Supresión,” a captivating charcoal painting by Ahmad Hasad, who spoke about his piece. One observer noted Hasad’s work reminded him of the popular game “Five Nights at Freddy’s” and Hasad acknowledged he did draw inspiration from the popular video game. Hasad also received the first-place prize.
Equally impressive is “The Numbers,” a stunning canvas work by Camille Denmark. Through meticulous attention to detail, you can see how Denmark incorporates lottery tickets in the artwork showing an innovative use of materials. Denmark was awarded the. second-place prize.
