On October 28, 2011, the HawkMedia Club picked up an additional 15 awards to add to the list of accomplishments for the student publications.

   The annual Florida College System Press Association (FCSPA) awards banquet was held in Orlando in conjunction with the national College Media Association (CMA) and Associated Col- legiate Press Association (ACP) annual conference. Over 2,200 students attended the event and there were over 100 professional seminars in media studies.

   During the state awards banquet, The Hawkeye received Best Newspaper Design, Best Editorial Cartoon and placed third overall in the state.  The newspaper and magazines also garnered an additional 13 awards for illustrations, poetry, art work, creative writing, photography and design.
