Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag game review
“Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag” is the game that “Assassin’s Creed III” should have been. Ubisoft entertainment has out done itself for this new “Assassin’s Creed” title. ACIV (Assassins Creed IV) takes place in the world of pirates. Who wouldn’t want to plunder a ship with a crew, and take whatever they want? Also, it is full of beautiful scenery in the Caribbean and the ability to take command of a ship.
Right in the golden age of pirates, protagonist Edward Kenway goes on the adventure of a lifetime doing what he does best, and that is whatever he wants. While playing the game, players will experience events recorded in history in the golden age of pirates. Historical figures, like Black Beard and James the Kid, appear.
He also stumbles into problems along his journey were he finds himself asking the question what is the point of enjoying yourself when it has no long term affect for the future?
The storyline in this game is extremely well written with a memorable protagonist.
The game plays the smoothest out of any of the other Assassin’s Creed games. Switching between target to target taking out the enemy, has never been easier than in hand to hand combat. Keeping that in mind, it makes the game feel a little repetitive, but that is only one mechanic of the game.
Digging deeper inside the game, the player will soon realize that there is a countless amount of things to do in this open world, going from playing checkers to harpooning a white whale, and everything in between. That is where the game stands out in its individuality.
ACIV makes the sea look and feel like the real thing. Sailing in calm water can change any second into a thunder storm with wind pushing the ship that Kenway commands from side to side.
Players also have to navigate their ship though the rough sea with water spouts around every corner.
With next gen graphics, ACIV is just amazing to just explore the world. Observing the sun in the game could actually hurt someone’s eyes. Viewing a plain empty field, ACIV is much more realistic than it could seem. The wind interacts with everything causing the grass, and leafs to move in certain directions or to a storm blowing other the players away.
It is all of the small details in this video game that make it stand out.
Over all, this is one of the best games of last year to make it to the next gen consoles. It has action, adventure, and drama, all in the right places. If you are looking for a good game to start testing next gen graphics on a new console, Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag is the game for you.
