Road to Indy offers exciting broadcasting internship
One student will have the opportunity to help expand their professional portfolio, with an internship unlike any other. How would you like to visit cities all over the country and spend your time in pit road at races, surrounded by cars that have enough horsepower to drown out all surrounding sound, and interview the drivers who bring their dedication and personality to the competition? The Road to Indy crew is looking to expand their broadcasting team, by bringing in a new host for their RoadToIndy.TV program. The internship offers young people the opportunity to expand their professional portfolio, in the form exposure in the broadcasting world.
While the internship is an unpaid position, your travel and food expenses would be covered during the duration of the trips. The student would have the opportunity to travel the nation (and one trip to Toronto) to watch and report on races that expand from the USF2000 series all the way to the Indy Lights series. You would be interviewing drivers and race teams from all over the world, while also receiving experience in front and behind the camera. There are 13 races throughout the season (over a seven month span) with two exhibition style races, starting on February, 19th 2015, at the NOLA Motorsports Park in Louisiana. It is imperative that anyone who submits an audition, be able to travel to all the races during the season.
The Pro Racing Group, who produces RoadToIndy.TV, is looking for students between the ages of 18 and 25, who can help bring the personal side of the drivers to the fans of the sport. “We are looking for a young, charismatic and knowledgeable host.” according to Travis Earnest from the Pro Racing Group and producer of RoadToIndy.TV, “We want to bring in a person who is willing to dedicate themselves to the show and can attend all the racing events, while also having an interest in automotive sports.” Earnest continued.
To audition for the host spot, all you need to do is create a one minute video that displays your personality in an energetic manner, while describing why you should be the host for the second season of the program. The submission period ends November 28, 2014, at which point the top five submissions, judged by the Pro Racing Group, will be put up for a social media vote to allow the viewers to have a say as to who they will see every episode. Auditions should be posted to your YouTube account and can be submitted to the Road to Indy’s Facebook page, where there is a link to the submission page.
